The Phone In

Available for 29 days

It's 60 years since tragedy struck the small mining village of Aberfan. Today, the community - just south of Merthyr Tydfil - remembers the 144 lives lost, including 116 children following the collapse of a colliery spoil tip above the village This lunchtime, King Charles is leading a royal visit to the Aberfan Memorial Garden. So today we would like to hear your reflections of the Aberfan disaster, 60 years on. Where were you when you heard the news? Did you have a personal connection with Aberfan? We would love to hear from you. Wales' finance minister has announced the Welsh government wants to delay a revaluation of homes for council tax to 2032. Elin Jones said the decision was made because she could not afford the kind of financial relief she would want to put in place if she went ahead with a planned revaluation in two years' time. It would mean that the values used to decide how much households pay will remain based on house prices from 23 years ago. The Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank said the explanation given by Jones was "nonsensical" and "absurd". Does the council tax system in Wales need to be changed? A brand new Ali G film is heading to the big screen on Friday. But not everyone is excited about the return of Baron Cohen's comedy character. Critics have long accused the actor of perpetuating racial stereotypes with Ali G, and criticism of the upcoming sequel has gained traction online, with social media posts from comedians, content creators and film fans attracting thousands of likes and comments. So, Ali G is back. But is the character past its sell-by date? And has our taste in comedy changed with time? Call or WhatsApp 03700 100 110. Text 8 10 12. Be part of the nation's conversation
