Call You & Yours: What do you do with things you've inherited that you don't want?

You and Yours

Available for over a year

It's our phone in today, Call You & Yours, and we want to know what you're doing with the stuff you've inherited but don't want. It's known as the "Boomer Avalanche" where older generations who've collected items and looked after historic family valuables are now passing them on to younger generations. But, maybe it's not to your taste. Dark brown furniture is particularly unpopular now according to antiques experts. Whereas Scandi 60s and 70s furniture is very trendy. Other heirlooms like Bone China tea sets, and crystal drinkware and other collectables have been kept behind glass in many people's homes but younger generations don't display collectables like we used to; so what do we do with them? We're also inheriting more than previous generations as there's less children to hand stuff on to. But it's hard to get rid of stuff loved ones have cherished- so how do you deal with sentimental items? Get in touch - have you sold on items? Was anything you've inherited truly valuable? Or was something cherished for years not worth much at all? You can call is on 03700 100 444 from 11am Our email is youandyours@bbc.co.uk PRESENTER: WINIFRED ROBINSON PRODUCER: LYDIA THOMAS
