Sensory Education, Drunk Shopping, Side Hustles

You and Yours

Available for over a year

After numerous complaints about online retailer Sensory Education dropped into the You and Yours inbox we decided to investigate. In this programme we hear from Sheila Rodger from Argyll who ordered a £575 art chest from the company in May. Months later the item still hadn't arrived and Sheila could find no way of getting through to a real person to find out why. We spoke to other customers with similar experiences and delved into online reviews left by schools and families of children with disabilities, all left out of pocket after ordering items that never arrived. Trading Standards and the police are now looking into the matter. Earning extra income through a side hustle or micro business is shaping how young people think about work and earnings. New research from eBay shows that more than half of young Brits see starting their own business as a realistic career option. But a skills gap means many lack practical knowlege when it comes to running a business. We hear from two young people who've managed to scale up their side hustle, about how and why they did it and the challenges they faced. Ever do a bit of online shopping with a glass of wine in hand? New research suggests as many as 8 in 10 people shop while they drink and that can lead to some interesting purchases. So what should you look out for and how do you avoid a purchase you might later regret. PRESENTER: WINIFRED ROBINSON PRODUCER CATHERINE EARLAM
