MPs unanimously approve Hillsborough Law

The World Tonight

Available for over a year

Sir Keir Starmer and his expected successor as prime minister, Andy Burnham, have claimed a Hillsborough Law will bring a new era of "justice for ordinary people". The legislation, named after the 1989 football stadium disaster, imposes a legal duty on public officials to co-operate with investigations and inquiries. We hear from one of the Hillsborough families, and a journalist who has followed their struggle for justice over decades. Also in the programme: As the US resumes its blockade of Iran’s ports, we look at how countries in the Middle East are trying to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. And as T-Rex skeleton ‘Gus’ becomes the most expensive dinosaur ever to be sold at auction, we hear from a "dino hunter" in Montana.
