As summer progresses, we explore the passage of time and the various ways we can experience it, from relaxed, lazy days spent messing about in boats with Kenneth Grahame's Ratty and Mole, to the frustrated boredom of waiting for the school day to end, as expressed by D.H. Lawrence. Keats explores the complicated interplay of wanting to get on with a project whilst also being unable to stop procrastinating, whilst Laurie Lee evokes sun-kissed summers of childhood that feels as though they'll never end. Music ranges from Haydn's symphony 'Il Distratto', to the fat waddling duck from Prokofiev's Peter And The Wolf, to John Coltrane's Lazy Bird. The readers are Laura Dos Santos and Ben Crowe. Producer: Luke Mulhall
