Events planned for the seaside town are still going ahead and tourists are being urged to stick to their holiday plans. While inspections are being carried out at the end of the pier, the owners say they hope to the landward end of it will be re-opened within the next 24-48 hours, in time for the weekend. ![]() Water ski racers took over Weston Bay. This summer tourists and local residents have enjoyed the likes of T4 on the Beach, the Water Ski Championships, and Heliday along the beachfront. Now North Somerset Council and the owners of the pier are keen to stress that events planned for Weston are still going ahead. Read on to find out what else is in store this summer: Special events:Saturday 2 August Carter's Steam Fair - it's hoped that some of the rides will be up and running before the weekend. Wednesday 27 August Red Arrows display ![]() Heliday is now in its 18th year. Ongoing entertainment until the end of August:Weekends: seafront entertainment, including circus skills, Punch and Judy, stilt-walkers and music. Sand Sculpture Festival. This runs til the end of August, so make sure you don't miss it. Places to visit:Weston has a wide range of attractions to keep you busy during your stay here and even if it rains there's still plenty to do. SeaQuariumSee sharks and rays just inches from you at the SeaQuarium on Marine Parade.
