Emma Sergeant
One of the UK’s leading figurative artists.

The British artist, Emma Sergeant, has become renowned for her surrealist portraits and figurative paintings. She shot to international prominence when, as a 21 year old student, she won the National Portrait Gallery Prize. Since then she has painted Sir Laurence Olivier, Imran Khan, and Jeremy Paxman. She was also the official tour artist for the Prince of Wales in the mid-1990s and for the past couple of years she has been painting horses. As a new exhibition of her recent work opens at The Fine Art Society in London, Emma joins Jane to talk about her work.

The exhibition of Emma Sergeant's recent work opens at the Fine Art Society on 22nd October 2008.
