Elizabeth Alker presents an afternoon of exclusive music-making from the UK and beyond including recent highlights from the Glenarm Festival of Voice. Featuring specially made recordings with performances from the acclaimed soprano Erika Baikoff, the Grammy award-winning mezzo Fleur Barron, and one of today's leading recital tenors, Ilker Arcayürek. Throughout the week, we'll be shining a spotlight on the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Today, the masterful Finnish conductor, John Storgårds, leads the orchestra in an iconic work from Finland's greatest composer, Sibelius. The stirring 'Karelia Suite' evokes the resilient spirit of the Finnish people through majestic brass chorales and folk-inspired melodies.
