Officials in France say a 15-year-old boy's hand was blown off during a confrontation between police and demonstrators near a school, as student protests continue across the country. We hear from protesters.

Dozens of people are in quarantine in Russia's Irkutsk region after a laboratory worker at a plague research institute in Siberia fell ill and died in undisclosed circumstances. We have the latest.

In the US, Cornell University’s president says the institution "must do better" after a former student alleged she was drugged and raped by a group of men at a fraternity house in 2024. She has now filed a civil lawsuit against Cornell, and the case has renewed questions about sexual assault, alcohol and drug use, and how universities respond when students report attacks. Reports from Ethiopia's northern Tigray province say a drone strike on a camp for internally displaced people has killed at least eight people. Our correspondent explains.
