
Cost-of-living crisis fuels protests in many African countries
There have been ongoing protests in several countries over rising fuel and food prices.
Several people have been arrested in Uganda following demonstrations against high food and fuel prices. Uganda is just one of several countries to be hit by widespread protests. We have a report on how the demonstrations are taking their toll on the various nations.
A court in The Gambia has sentenced the country’s former spy chief and four others to death for the murder of a political activist during former President Jammeh’s time in office.
And we hear from Kenya, where campaigning is underway for the 9 August elections.
