Supporters of Mali’s ruling military junta have held a rally in Bamako, after the country’s interim leaders announced a plan to delay the holding of elections by five years. Regional bloc ECOWAS condemned the move and imposed sanctions, a response echoed by the European Union.
Plus, Nigeria’s anti-corruption commission has arrested a man who is accused of impersonating an army general and forging President Buhari’s signature, as part of a scam worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
