Gunmen have killed dozens of people and wounded many others in a series of attacks on several villages in Nigeria’s north-western state of Sokoto, according to police and residents.

Doctors’ leaders in Tanzania have denied allegations that the healthcare system is being overwhelmed amid widespread claims Covid-19 is out of control in the country. We hear from Dr Elisha Osati, the President of Tanzania's Medical Association.
