Trump acknowledges Iran war played role in Midterms

President Donald Trump has acknowledged the Iran War has played a part in the widespread Republican defeat in the US Midterm elections.

Calling into the Wall Street Journal, the president said that people "agree with what I'm doing on Iran, but they really, probably weren't willing to do the short term consequences of playing warfare".

North America correspondent Anthony Zurcher said the president "wants to take control of the message" following major Democrat gains.
