Ukraine: US envoy Steve Witkoff meets Russian President Vladimir Putin

Following talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo, Steve Witkoff visits St Petersburg to share the latest peace proposals on Ukraine with President Putin.

According to Norway’s Prime Minister, who hosted the Oslo talks, the hope is that the St Petersburg negotiations will lead to a three way meeting of the leaders of Russia, Ukraine and the United States.

Nick Robinson asks General Wesley Clark, former Supreme Allied Commander of Europe for Nato, whether these talks suggest that President Trump has persuaded the Ukrainians they must negotiate.
