'I got Wheatus to sponsor my Worcester under-13s'
Naturally, Teenage Dirtbag gets blasted on their Worcester training ground. The band's lead singer says their association with Nunnery Wood under-13 Phoenix is 'totally rad'.
Coach Graham has seen Wheatus perform many times and has passed his love for the band on to his son Bertie, who plays for the side. The pair met the group's members at a meet-and-greet in Gloucester and remained in touch over email.
Graham asked the band if they were interested on the off chance, who replied that sponsoring the youth footballers was 'the opportunity they had been looking for'. Singer and founding member Brendan B. Brown says it's 'awesome' to see the band's logo on their shirts and has suggested the next step is an acoustic performance from the group, in person!
