Backstage at Sonic Boom

Burton upon Trent, known around the world for brewing, is building another reputation: as a town that's serious about new music.

Over the last three years, Sonic Boom has turned the town centre into a festival stage, with more than 80 local and national bands playing across venues and stages.

This year's headliners were Pale Waves, introduced on stage by BBC 6 Music's Chris Hawkins, who was born in Loppington near Wem, who's become a huge champion of new music.

We were there too, with our very own BBC Introducing stage in The Campus at Burton & South Derbyshire College, with BBC Introducing's Dean Jackson.
