Parliamentary candidate to beauty queen

A woman from Leicestershire who's gone from the political campaign trail to the international pageant stage says she wants to inspire others to keep pursuing their ambitions.

Carissma Griffiths is a former parliamentary candidate who’s now been crowned ‘Ms Crown & Glory International’. She says she hopes her reign will encourage women to challenge themselves, embrace new opportunities and break down stereotypes.

She also wants to use her new platform to promote confidence, representation and self-belief. She spoke to BBC Leicester’s Ben Jackson.
