Asian Filmmakers Take the Spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival

Hollywood studios may have stayed away from the Cannes Film Festival this year, but films by Asian directors have taken centre stage at cinema's most prestigious showcase instead .Directors including Japan's Hiokazu Koreeda, Ryusuke Hamaguchi and Koji Fukada are showing in Competition, as is Korean auteur Na Hong-jin. And atter the global success of film and TV projects such as 'Parasite' and 'Squid Game', they're also attracting western stars to work on them.
