The Mayflower

Barely a century after Christopher Columbus paved the way for European colonisation of the Americas, a few dozen Pilgrims made their famous journey across the Atlantic in the Mayflower.

But who were these travellers, and where did they come from? Why did they risk everything to make the treacherous journey across the ocean? And how did such a small group go on to establish a whole new society, defining the character of what would become the United States for centuries to come?
