‘Blue Light’ Hijab for Leicestershire Police
A groundbreaking quick-release hijab, created right here in Leicestershire, has gone into production, with orders from around the country.
Known as 'The Blue Light Hijab', it features a magnetic quick-release system that allows the lower section to detach instantly if pulled during a confrontation, preventing the risk of strangulation while maintaining modesty and professional appearance. It's the brainchild of Detective Sergeant Yassin Desai who first came up with the idea 20 years ago. After extensive research he teamed up with Leicester's own De Montfort University for the design.
