Meet Leicester's first-ever Poet Laureate
Leicester has it's first official Poet Laureate.
The role was created by the Leicester Poetry Committee to promote poetry in the city. Organisers Literati Arts say they trying to cultivate the craft of spoken word and are championing poetry's role in the community.
Leicester poet Ty'rone Haughton and Mo Panesar from the Leicester Poetry Committee spoke to BBC Leicester's Ben Jackson before Leicester's first Poet Laureate was announced as Akshay Sharma - otherwise known as Mr Shay.
