The Racing Pod: What does a valet do?
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the people described as the 'bread and butter' of race days, at Worcester Racecourse.
Bryony Harris and Trevor Owens introduce Mark, Phil and Lewis, who have decades of experience between them. They describe the job of a valet as picking up (often cleaning) jockeys' gear, from one part of the country, to another. The valets often saddle horses and prepare jockeys, who often ride several horses at a single meet.
