East Midlands Airport turns 60
It's the 60th anniversary of flights beginning at East Midlands Airport.
From those early days in 1965, East Midlands Airport has grown in importance as a driver for the freight sector, tourism and jobs.
The owners say they're continuing to invest hundreds of millions of pounds to ensure the future of air travel from our region.
BBC reporter Simon Ward has been taking a look back at the history and meeting some of those who've played their part in running East Midlands Airport.
