Sandhurst mum raises over £30k after death of her son
Meet Nikki Treharne – the winner of the Fundraiser award at the 2023 BBC Radio Berkshire Make a Difference Awards.
Nikki lost her son Ethan to a brain tumour in 2021. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to raise much-needed funds and awareness for brain tumour charities in the hope that she can stop other families going through the loss her family has suffered.
She has raised over £30,000 through fundraising events involving the Berkshire community. On what would have been her son Ethan's 19th birthday, she organised a celebrity football match with celebrities including Danny Dyer, James Arthur and many more taking part.
BBC Radio Berkshire’s Andrew Peach speaks to Nikki about her fundraising work – and hear the moment she was presented with the Make a Difference Award for Fundraiser at the BBC Radio Berkshire ceremony at Reading Town Hall in September 2023.
