The Bristol Bus Boycott – 60 Years On
Paul Stephenson, Guy Bailey and Roy Hackett were part of the group that masterminded Britain’s first black-led campaign against racial discrimination. Just a quick warning: as some of this audio is from our archives, it contains some language and racial references used at the time that you may find offensive. We’ve used it to illustrate the attitudes faced by many Black people in British society back in the Sixties, as we feel it helps highlight the scale of the problem the boycott was trying to tackle.
