German Calendar No December is a coming-of-age and identity story. Olivia, the main character, faces trials and tribulations in boarding school in Nigeria then challenges as a mixed-race woman in Germany. It's a poignant, but often humorous story.

The author of the graphic novel, Sylvia Ofili, is of Nigerian and Hungarian descent. She currently teaches in Sweden. So is the book autobiographical?
