The painting that took 50,000 hours to create
British painter Ben Johnson spent 50,000 hours creating his imposing depiction of part of the Alhambra in Granada, 'Patio de Los Arrayanes'.
Besides practicing meditation, Mr Johnson looked to his difficult childhood to explain his ability to maintain concentration for prolonged periods while he works, he told David Sillito.
"Concentration brings about an extraordinary stability in one's life, and many of us come from less stable backgrounds than we would have liked."
