'Operation Stack has failed'
The government needs a national strategy to combat the cross-Channel disruption caused by the Calais crisis, said the Conservative MP for Folkestone and Hythe.
“Operation Stack has failed – it is causing gridlock on our roads,” Damian Collins told the Today programme.
“A crisis of this scale needs a national strategy.”
He said French authorities needed to “get a grip” of the crisis, saying “they wouldn’t be this lax in protecting an airport”.
