Pig owner dismayed after RSPCA puts pet down
The RSPCA took away and put down Mr. Pig, without telling owner Bob Skinner, due to concerns over its health.
Bob was taken to court accused of animal cruelty and has since been cleared of malicious intent.
Bob, has disputed the RSPCA’s claims that Mr. Pig was ill, and said the RSPCA hadn’t tried to contact him at all before they took him away.
"Although he was incredibly old, he showed no signs of suffering to me".
Mr. Pig had been Bob’s companion for 20 years, and he described him as his best friend.
"He wanted to carry on being himself until he was ready to say, Bob, I’ve had enough".
