In this week's Talking Business, Michelle Fleury in New York is asking whether growing income inequality is killing the American Dream. The United States has one of the highest pay gaps in the developed world. And many of the country's leaders - including President Barack Obama, who has labelled it as the 'defining issue challenge of our time' - are worried. They fear that, despite a return to growth, the US economy is failing to produce enough well-paid jobs or creating the right kind of opportunities to reverse this trend. Michelle will be discussing this issue with her guests Ed Conard, who worked with former US presidential candidate Mitt Romney at Bain Capital; Nell Abernathy, a fellow at the Roosevelt institute, who recently co-authored a report about inequality with Nobel laureate economist Joseph Stiglitz; and entrepreneur David Mandell, chief executive of Pivot Desk.
