Paris
Kate Molleson explores Spanish composer Manuel de Falla's life in five cities. When Falla arrives in Paris, he soon befriends Paul Dukas and Claude Debussy.
Manuel de Falla was one of the most influential Spanish composers of the early 20th century. He lived a long life but he composed relatively little; his compositions could be listed on a single sheet of paper. Throughout his long life, Manuel de Falla saw a lot of the world and called several cities his home: Cádiz, where he was born; Madrid, where he got his start; Paris, where he was mentored by Dukas and Debussy; Granada, where he composed most of his notable works; and Alta Gracia, where he spent his final years.
Kate Molleson follows Manuel de Falla to Paris, where the composer soon befriends Paul Dukas and Claude Debussy.
