Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper has been at the heart of rock 'n' roll since the 1960s. From his early beginnings in Detroit, through to the excess of everything during the 70s in Los Angeles and beyond, Alice has lived the life of a rocker and fortunately, managed to get out alive at the other end!

Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon - they were all friends of Alice, along with the likes of The Who's Keith Moon. As well as releasing critically acclaimed albums and No 1 singles, Alice partied his way through the era with some of rock's biggest names, until it became clear that something had to change in order to save his life.

Alice joins Shaun on the Rock Show as part of Radio 2's celebration of Icons for this year's National Album Day. He's currently in the UK on a spoken word tour, having just published his autobiography, Devil On My Shoulder.
