The Call of Cthudo

By James Henry. Five colourful detectives awaken in a country house with a corpse, no escape and no memory. Part comedy-mystery, part cosmic-horror, where nothing obeys the rules.

Five celebrated and colourful detectives awaken in a remote country house with no memory of how they got there. Faced with a dead body and no obvious way out, they are delighted to discover they all have the perfect qualification for solving the mystery - they are each convinced they're Britain's greatest detective!

The only problem is the house. Ashmouth Hall refuses to behave. Corridors stretch impossibly, secret passages appear from nowhere, strange noises echo through empty rooms, every accusation unleashes fresh horrors and every new clue makes the mystery even stranger. As detective rivalries descend into increasingly absurd one-upmanship, the house begins to reveal far darker secrets and terrifying unearthly monsters of its own.

A gloriously playful comedy mystery from award-winning writer James Henry (Green Wing, Smack the Pony, Piglets), The Call of Cthudo lovingly celebrates the traditions of classic country house whodunnits before gleefully turning them inside out with impossible architecture, supernatural surprises and a dash of cosmic horror.
