The BBC Philharmonic Live from Salford Quays

Elizabeth Alker showcases the best performances from the UK and beyond, including Brahms and Schubert live from the BBC Philharmonic Studio in Salford Quays.

Elizabeth Alker presents an afternoon of exclusive music-making from the UK and beyond. Throughout the week, the spotlight has shone on the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The heart of today’s programme is a live concert from the players of the BBC Philharmonic, at home in their Salford studio. Clelia Cafiero conducts the Tragic Overture by Brahms and Schubert's Symphony No. 9.

Elsewhere in the programme, there are highlights from the Glenarm Festival of Voice featuring specially made recordings with performances from the acclaimed soprano Erika Baikoff, the Grammy award-winning mezzo Fleur Barron, and one of today's leading recital tenors, Ilker Arcayürek.
