93. Kirsty v Tom, royal cameos and rural policing
Emma Freud is joined by Annabelle Dowler, who plays Kirsty, to discuss Tom's strong reaction to Kirsty's pregnancy; plus Ambridge royal cameos and a real Harrison Burns.
Emma Freud is joined by Annabelle Dowler, who plays Kirsty, and Times parenting columnist Claire Cohen to discuss how Ambridge has reacted to the news of Kirsty's pregnancy, and in particular the response from Tom Archer: was Kirsty too tough on Tom? Or was Tom too hot-headed?
Emma also looks back at previous pregnancy revelations, including the moment when 20-year-old Kate Aldridge broke the news to her mother Jennifer and ended up shouting "how can you be such a hypocrite?".
After Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, made a surprise appearance at the Borchester show, Emma and guests listen back to previous royal appearances, including the episode in 1984 when Princess Margaret attended a charity fundraiser at Grey Gables.
And as Harrison Burns takes up a new rural policing role, we hear from a real-life Harrison: Sergeant Chris Green is the lead for the Rural, Wildlife and Heritage Crime Team at Suffolk Constabulary and has advised the Archers team. He outlines some of the crimes Harrison might encounter, and discusses the recent sheep-worrying story, and the likely punishment for the dog owner.
