Jason Mohammad takes your calls on defence spending, living without a car and murals.
Would you like to see more money committed towards defence? Could you live without a car? And what figure from your area should have a mural?
Keir Starmer has announced the details of his long delayed Defence Investment Plan this morning. It includes 15 billion pounds of fresh investment for defence, which falls short of the 28 billion the Ministry of Defence had previously asked for. Former Defence Secretary John Healey resigned when the Government were considering only investing 13.5 billion, but his replacement Dan Jarvis has pushed for more in recent weeks. The Conservatives have described the plans as "too little, too late". So would you like to see more money committed towards defence? And should we pull money from elsewhere to fund our military?
Could you live without a car? A new study has suggested that 72% of us feel like owning a car is now considered a luxury, due to the rising costs of things like insurance, petrol, car tax... and that's without even learning to drive in the first place. But despite this, 85% of us don't think that we could live without a car. This month, we saw that 30 new vehicles were introduced to the TrawsCymru network in a bid to improve long-distance public transport links across Wales. But, is it enough? Could you reasonably give up your car?
And, what figure from your area should have a mural? That's because a new mural of the late Eastenders actor June Brown - better known to many as her character Dot Cotton - has appeared in Pontyates. Whilst some locals were left scratching their heads, Brown was actually chosen as she had been evacuated to the Gwendraeth Valley village during the Second World War. The idea for the mural came from a brainstorming session with local primary school students. So if you had to choose someone with a connection to your town to have a mural, who would it be?
