Soweto presents an hour of exciting new releases and jazz classics, and saxophonist Alex Hitchcock returns to share his second Flowers pick of the week.

Tonight saxophonist Alex Hitchcock returns to share another artist that he would like to celebrate, for Flowers. Tonight he chooses an American avant-garde trumpeter.

There’s also music from Ezra Collective, Virginia MacDonald and Donna Thompson, as well as a previously unreleased concert recording from 1990 by Norma Winstone, Steve Gray, and the formerly named NDR Radio Orchestra, now the NDR Radiophilharmonie.

‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
