BBC National Orchestra of Wales perform Rachmaninov Symphonic Dances

Linton Stephens introduces an afternoon of specially made recordings including musical highlights from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, LSO St Luke's and Ensemble Molière

Linton Stephens presents an afternoon of exceptional music-making with highlights from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Conductor Ryan Bancroft takes to the podium for his final Welsh concert as Principal, directing the orchestra in Brahms' Double Concerto, Rachmaninov's vibrant Symphonic Dances, and Stravinsky's colourful Song of the Nightingale, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale.

From LSO St Luke’s, pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips is joined by pianist Philip Moore and violinist Malin Broman, concluding his recent programme of chamber music with friends.

Ensemble Molière, the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Baroque Ensemble, also features, performing works by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier and Francois Couperin with their distinctive flair for French Baroque style.
