Live coverage of the opening match in Group I between France and Senegal from the New Jersey Stadium in New York.

France almost won back-to-back World Cups in Qatar four years ago but lost on penalties against Argentina, after perhaps the greatest World Cup final in history had finished 3-3.

Senegal were involved in controversy earlier this year when they beat Morocco 1-0 in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. Senegal had earlier walked off after their opponents were awarded a controversial penalty and the result was later overturned with Morocco declared the winners.

France are among the favourites to win the tournament but Senegal did produce one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history when they famously beat Les Bleus in 2002.
