Household energy bills will rise by 13% from July - how can you keep energy costs down?
The energy regulator Ofgem has announced that average household energy bills will rise by 13% from July, as a result of the first price rise since the war in Iran. It means a household using a typical amount of gas and electricity will pay £221 more a year, with an annual bill of £1,862. That's an additional £18 pounds per month. The number of bicycles sold in the UK increased last year for the first time since 2022. According to figures from the industry body the Bicycle Association, mechanical bike sales increased by 6% and electric bikes by 2%. The number of people getting their bicycles serviced also increased by 8%. It comes after a difficult few years for the industry following the pandemic boom.
