In Episode 1, IT workers Iain and Mel are tasked with overseeing a late night server update at the HQ of one of Britain's biggest telecom providers, UT. When naturally reticent Mel questions the size of the update, she is overruled by Iain who believes they must carry out their task regardless of their own concerns. But when Director of AI Research Zaina Hassan bursts in, they realise they are pawns in someone else’s game.
