Series 5

Based on Ada Leverson's novels, the delightful entanglements of the Ottleys are drawn to a close. With Geoffrey Whitehead.

Autumn 1916 - Edith, Aylmer and Bruce remain in their infernal, triangular charade and seem as helpless and doomed as they ever were.

Edith's scheme of shuttling between Aylmer (the love of her life) in Jermyn Street and Bruce (her hopeless former husband) in Sloane Street, is not going to work.

What on earth Edith wonders, is to become of them all.

Shocked by Aylmer's words, Bruce makes a decision that could change life for the Ottleys and their friends for ever.

The fifth and final series of Ada Leverson's witty and wonderful social comedy set in early 20th century London, taken from her three short novels written between 1908 and 1916: Love’s Shadow, Tenterhooks and Love at Second Sight. They were grouped together in 1962 under the title of 'The Little Ottleys'.

Dramatised by Martyn Wade.
