Ian McEwan
Episode 1 of 14
Razia Iqbal asks Ian McEwan about his latest novel, Solar, and how he copes with being seen as our national novelist.
Ian McEwan is that rare beast in contemporary fiction: a literary writer who sells in the millions, regularly getting into the best seller lists in hardback. Shortlisted several times, he won the Booker prize in 1998 for Amsterdam. His novels are often optioned for films, most recently the award-winning Atonement, starring Keira Knightley. Razia Iqbal asks him about his latest novel Solar and how he copes with being seen as our national novelist.
