The following Proms offer younger listeners a brilliant first-time experience. There are two Horrible Science concerts created especially for children and the Relaxed Prom offers an informal, Transatlantic-themed matinee in celebration of the 250th anniversary of America's Declaration of Independence.
Something a bit different
This season offers a huge variety of styles and performers, from the hugely popular music of Disney film composer Alan Menken to the unique blend of psychedelic folk-rock sound world of Altın Gün. The Proms honours two towering figures in Marvin Gaye and Miles Davis, and revisits the iconic soundtracks of James Bond. There's also a symphonic celebration of British-born Prog Rock, with classic tracks on a grand, orchestral scale.

Celebrating Voice
Sing joyfully! A fantastic array of stellar vocal works fill this year’s Proms programme, as a star-studded roster of performers lifts the roof off the Royal Albert Hall. Opera shines brightly with concert stagings of Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos from Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Weber’s Oberon from the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique. Elsewhere, hear Mahler’s magnificent Song of the Earth, choral brilliance in Bach's Mass in B minor and the dramatic legend of Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust.
Late Night Proms
If you’re a musically adventurous night owl then our intimate and eclectic Late Night concerts might just be for you!
Tenor Laurence Kilsby and the Jupiter Ensemble journey explore the heart-aching Baroque worlds of Dowland and Purcell, while the legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo brings the vibrant spirit of South Africa in their Royal Albert Hall debut. Dame Evelyn Glennie joins the Fantasia Orchestra for a genre-busting programme, with everything from Radiohead to Vaughan Williams, meanwhile the Ultimate Calm Prom offers an evening of atmospheric and reflective soundscapes. Also, discover a double-bill of early sacred choral music from The Gesualdo Six and Steve Reich’s Tehillim from the Colin Currie Group in celebration of the composer’s 90th birthday.
Across the UK
We’re excited to be returning to the Glasshouse International Centre for Music and the Bristol Beacon for two more weekend-long Proms festivals this season, which also include visits to Sunderland and St George’s Bristol. Middlesbrough and Mold will also be raising the Proms banner this summer for some more brilliant music-making across the UK.
