Fire! That’s the main thing with this new blog, regular visitors to my MySpace and Face Book pages will know that we had a fire in the kitchen, no one was hurt and it's taken just over a week to make it habitable again! We still can’t use it for cooking but finally have somewhere to store our cooking stuff (other than in our bedrooms!). Anyways, halls have calmed down and I’m looking forward to at least a few days of calmness (without 12 people trying to cook in one tiny kitchen!). So what else has been happening since my last blog? | | The aftermath of the fire! |
Well quite a bit...most of it's boring though! My second year is progressing quite well, I’ve just got the results for Semester one. I passed SQL (which I expected to fail) and got marks in the 60+ region for everything else (apart from Systems Admin!). Not exactly the best but it’ll do. That reminds me if anyone reading this is any good at Java feel free to get in touch I need a good tutor! Another big thing is I have my paperwork for my US Visa! I’m heading down at the end of March to the US embassy! It’s weird I’m already excited about heading back to Camp and there’s still 3 months to go! I’ve been getting in touch with more people who are heading over to Round Lake Camp this year, I like the fact I should now know quite a few people when I start this year (and they’ve been warned I am hyper most of the time!). Time, that’s the theme of this Blog (quite a loose theme I’ll admit) the reason is, I’m finally starting to feel the pressure of time for my uni work. It’s scary I don’t think I ever really noticed how much work I was having to do the last two years. This semester is crazy I’m sitting in my room surrounded by half finished assignments! There’s another reason I called this blog 'Time'. On Friday it will be six years since my Grandma passed away, I can still remember her so well, even hear her voice. How can it be six years when it feels like yesterday I last saw her walking into my room for a chat? I didn’t expect to be as upset as I have been, it’s strange, I thought I wouldn’t be that upset as it’s been six years, but as anyone who knows me will tell you, I haven’t been right so far this week. Sorry everyone! Don’t get me wrong I’m not really depressed or anything, just not as talkative as usual (and that is weird). I’m just glad I’ve got good friends who look after me when I need it, Debbie, Kate, Russell and Steph you're the best... and everyone else of course! Well that’s it for now from the University of Bradford, I promise I will send you a longer update later, never seem to get the time at the moment! See ya later Marty |
