After a year spent doing voluntary work in America and jet-setting around Europe, Daniel's finally landed in York. He's back to complete the second year of his Sociology degree, and is fitting in as much as he can around it.
I am a Second year student at York University and studying Sociology. I took a gap year where I worked in Boston (USA) with homeless children and after my volunteer work I travelled with a friend down the east coast. I also backpacked Eastern Europe over the summer - as you can tell, I love to travel!
My ambition is to become a film director and I write screenplays in my spare time. I am highly involved in student life; I hold a position on my college JCRC (Junior Common Room Committee) as Male Welfare Officer and am looking forward to running for Vice-Chair Head of Welfare later this term. I am also Captain and Coach of my college basketball team and am involved in a number of college sports such as football and pool.
It's a fantastic experience to be living away from home in London - one I would look forward to sharing with others through my diaries. I’m enjoying making the most of the opportunities I have at York and plan to do so for my next two years.
