Pokémon and European Space Agency team up for World Space Week

The European Space Agency (ESA) and Pokémon are joining forces to inspire young people this World Space Week.

World Space Week runs from 4 -10 October and last year had 50,000 events in 102 nations.

By teaming up, the ESA and Pokémon want to inspire new generations to explore and experiment, whether that's through science or imagination.

We'll find out more details about the collaboration nearer the time, but they've told kids to "fasten their space helmets and get their Pokédexes ready".

What is World Space Week?

World Space Week is an international celebration of science, technology and all things space.

It was set up by the United Nations in 1999, to inspire and inform people about jobs in science and get people excited about space.

There's usually lots of space-related activities put on by space agencies, aerospace companies, planetariums, museums and schools.
