Scam targets bank customers

Tens of thousands of people in Northern Ireland are being contacted by criminals who are trying to steal their account details.

The customers are being told they are in line for refunds on bank charges, but the phone calls are part of a new catalogue of con tricks.

Criminal gangs are trying to con Irish bank account holders like never before and even banking staff find it difficult to spot them.

Our Consumer Correspondent Martin Cassidy has this special report on the sophisticated scam which the banks are calling "the blended threat".
