Solicitor jailed

A Londonderry lawyer who acted "more like an enthusiastic gang member than an officer of the court" has been jailed for ten years for inciting murder.

Manmohan 'Johnny' Sandhu, from of Colby Avenue in the city, admitted charges against him after police secretly taped his consultations with loyalist paramilitary suspects.

Sentencing him this morning, the judge at Belfast Crown Court described Sandhu's actions as a grave breach of trust.

Ciara Riddell reports.
