Hermon 'won't stand' with Tories

The Ulster Unionist party's only MP, Lady Sylvia Hermon, says she won't be standing in the next general election under the Conservative Party banner.

It is Lady Hermon's first public pronouncement on her party's recent link-up with the Tories, although her reservations have been no secret in political circles.

She made her views known in an interview for the BBC about expenses.

She spoke of her embarrassment at finding that she had been overpaid by Westminster for rental charges on a London flat.

Our Political Correspondent, Gareth Gordon, reports.
